CREW Plans City View Tour

Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Greater Akron will host the 2017 City View Tour on Thursday, May 4, 8:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. The tour will begin at the PNC Center, 1 Cascade Plaza, and will feature buildings that create the downtown Akron skyline, including Canal Square, Ronald McDonald House, and The Goodyear Polymer Center.  This year, the attendees will be riding the City of Akron trolleys between downtown and the University of Akron.

The tour will begin with breakfast on the 18th floor of the PNC Tower, where the group will be provided an overview of downtown development and information about the PNC Tower itself. The building is 23 floors and offers tremendous views of downtown and the City of Akron. Second, Testa Companies will provide a tour of the newly-renovated apartments in the Canal Square building (formerly YMCA), built in 1931, and discuss the process of repurposing these building for today’s use and standards, including challenges and interesting discoveries.  Third, the group will explore the Ronald McDonald House, opened in 1985, which is undergoing an expansion, tripling the number of families it is able to serve at Akron Children's Hospital. Finally, the tour will finish at The University of Akron Goodyear Polymer Center, built in 1991. The tour will grant participants a rare peek into the research building and the great views it provides of the City.

The tour is open to members and non-members of the CREW organization. Member tickets are $30, while non-member tickets are $45. Registration online at A light breakfast will be provided to tour participants.
