City of Akron Activates Cooling Center for Wednesday July 15

Akron, Ohio, July 14, 2026 — The City of Akron will extend hours at Summit Lake Community Center (380 W. Crosier St.) on Wednesday, July 15 to provide a cooling center for residents in need.  Summit Lake Community Center will be open between 9:00 am and 9:00. All other City of Akron community centers  will be open during their normal business hours. The city will continue to monitor temperatures and will extend community center hours as necessary.
