The Akron Zoo Extends Closure
January 27, 2026, AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27 and Wednesday, Jan. 28 due to extreme temperatures. The zoo will reevaluate on Thursday.
The Akron Zoo has been closed since Saturday, Jan. 24 for the winter storm. During the past several days, some animals have been enjoying the snow, including the river otters, grizzly bears and mountain lion cubs.
The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Off-season hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission rates are $11 – $21. Children under two are free and parking is free. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
