Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau Launches Summit Sweet Stroll

AKRON, OH (July 30, 2025) – Popcorn! Peanuts! Candy! The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau (ASCVB) is excited to announce the launch of its newest initiative, the Summit Sweet Stroll on Aug. 2, 2025. The Summit Sweet Stroll consists of 20 delicious ice cream, popcorn and candy stores throughout Summit County.

Participants are encouraged to venture out to their favorite stop or try something new at a location they may not be familiar with. The fun begins by picking up a passport at any participating shop along the Summit Sweet Stroll. Users need to visit and make a purchase at each location to earn a stamp on their passport. Those who collect a stamp from at least 16 locations will have successfully completed their passports. Upon completion, submit passports to the ASCVB offices and receive the limited-edition ice cream scoop, along with an entry into the Grand Prize Package – a $250 value!

The Summit Sweet Stroll also has a digital version of the passport. Participants can choose to complete the stroll with either the digital or printed version of the passport, then submit it to the ASCVB. Combinations will not be accepted.

“The Summit Sweet Stroll is a fun and flavorful extension of our efforts to spotlight local businesses and celebrate the vibrancy of Summit County’s retail community,” said Gregg Mervis, president and CEO of the ASCVB. “We’re excited to support our local shops and believe participants will enjoy exploring the unique treats and experiences our region has to offer.”
