Akron/Summit CVB’s Drip Drive Returns to Support Summit County’s Local Coffee Scene
AKRON, OH (Feb. 27, 2026) – The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau (ASCVB) is brewing up excitement once again with the launch of the annual Drip Drive, kicking off Feb. 28, 2026. This year, 22 locally owned coffee shops across Summit County are inviting residents and visitors to sip, explore and support local.
Now in its seventh year, the Drip Drive has become a beloved Summit County tradition. The initiative encourages participants to discover new shops and return to long-time favorites, while directly supporting the small businesses.
Ready to start sipping? Head to any of the participating locations and pick up a free passport, or do the digital version available online. With each purchase, participants earn a stamp. Continue the fun by stopping at each of the coffee shops along the drive, making purchases and collecting stamps. The minimum number of stamps needed to complete the passport is 18.
Participants can submit their completed passport to the ASCVB offices or the Akron Art Museum to receive a limited-edition Drip Drive coffee mug and be entered to win the $500 Grand Prize Package. The prize includes swag, coffee, gift cards, merch and more, all from coffee shops on The Drip Drive!
Last year, more than 600 participants completed the Drip Drive, generating increased foot traffic and visibility for locally owned shops throughout Summit County.
“Each stop along the Drip Drive represents a locally owned business that contributes to the strength of our area’s economy,” said Gregg Mervis, president and CEO of the ASCVB. “Participants are directly supporting small businesses. Initiatives like this showcase what makes Summit County special, encourage exploration and drive visitation throughout our communities.”
Whether you’re a cold brew connoisseur, cappuccino enthusiast or just looking for a new weekend adventure, the Drip Drive is your perfect excuse to explore Summit County one cup at a time.
