Senior Safari at the Akron Zoo is September 5
August 26, 2025, AKRON, Ohio – Senior Safari, the Akron Zoo’s popular senior event, will be on Friday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Seniors, ages 62 and older, will receive discounted admission for the day at $7 per person. Tickets are available at the door the day of the event or online in advance at akronzoo.org/tickets.
Local organizations that offer services for seniors will be on-site throughout the zoo, sharing information and giveaways. All senior guests will receive an Akron Zoo tote bag, complimentary coffee, animal encounters, crafts and more. A lunch special of hot dog, chips and canned pop will also be available in the zoo’s Komodo Kingdom Café for $6.99.
Hearts for Music, an orchestra comprised of children and young adults with special needs, will provide music for the event.
Senior Safari is presented by SummaCare. A limited number of wheelchairs are available free of charge, and a limited number of electric scooters are available for $27 per day. All rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Peak season hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission rates are $11 – $21. Children under two are free and parking is free. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
