Lock 3 Goes Live: Akron’s Biggest Summer Starts Soon

Akron, Ohio, April 15, 2026  — Summer in Akron just leveled up. Lock 3 is back and bigger, louder, and more electric than ever. With nearly 110 events and a goal of 250,000 visitors in 2026, downtown’s signature venue is launching a season packed with music, festivals, food, and nonstop energy. For all the details, visit Lock3Live.com.

This year’s lineup is built by Akron, for Akron, shaped directly by community feedback calling for more variety, more local talent, and more family-friendly experiences. The result: a summer that hits every note.

“Lock 3 is a place where everyone belongs and every resident can find something to celebrate,” said Akron Mayor Shammas Malik. “This lineup reflects what we heard from our community, and we’re excited to bring it to life all summer long.”  

Turn Up the Volume 

The season kicks off May 23 with Live at the Locks, featuring two stages and six local bands, setting the tone for a summer that blends hometown pride with national buzz.  From there, the energy only builds: 

  • Gin Blossoms (June 26) and Carl Thomas (June 27) headline a blockbuster opening stretch  
  • Tom Keifer of Cinderella (July 23) brings arena rock to downtown  
  • 70’s Soul Jam (Aug. 1) and Pure Prairie League (Aug. 2) deliver throwback hits  
  • Gerald Albright (Sept. 12) closes out the season with smooth jazz flair

  • Polymer Palooza (June 6) celebrating Akron’s innovation legacy  
  • Juneteenth Celebration (June 7)  
  • All-American Burgers & BBQ Festival (July 3–4) with fireworks and live music  
  • Italian Festival (July 10–11) and African American Cultural Festival (July 18–19)  
  • Fire Fighters Challenge (July 23–25)—featuring firefighters from 13 states   
  • Pickle Fest (Aug. 9) and Akron Pride Festival (Aug. 22)
