City of Akron Hosting 3rd Annual Akron City Festival Celebrating Akron’s Future Leaders on Sunday, August 31st
Parade kicks off at 1pm
Akron, Ohio, Aug. 8, 2025 — Today, Akron Mayor Shammas Malik announced the Third Annual Akron City Festival to be held in downtown Akron on Sunday, August 31 from 12 pm - 6 pm. The festival will have a family-friendly atmosphere and celebrate Akron's young adults as they start a new school year. A parade will kick off the festivities at 1 pm and the festival will be hosted by Night Lyfe Entertainment immediately following the parade. There will be an outdoor basketball court, food trucks, a live DJ, gaming trucks, bouncy houses, face painting, giveaways, barbers, nail techs, henna artists, balloon artists, informational vendors for youth, and fun for the whole family.
The parade will feature youth-serving, non-profit, community-based organizations and Akron Public Schools Athletics, Fine Arts, and JROTC. It will line up at the Spaghetti Warehouse located at 510 S. Main St. and starting at 1 pm will travel along Main Street ending at the Lock 3 Stage. “I welcome all Akron families to come join us downtown for the Third Annual Akron City Festival,” said Mayor Malik. “This festival will help us set the tone for our future leaders for their school year and provide some joy and entertainment for parents and kids alike. The festival is presented by the City of Akron, and supported by Akron Public Schools, and Downtown Akron Partnership.
