10 Years of Public Art and Artists to Be Celebrated at Curated Storefront’s May 2 Fundraiser: Revelry for a Cause

Kim and Harvey Nelson Named Honorary Co-chairs and Presenting Sponsors

AKRON, Ohio, February 25, 2026 – The community is invited to celebrate a decade of public art and support artists at Curated Storefront’s 2026 gala and fundraiser, Revelry for a Cause, 6–10 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at the Akron Art Museum.

“This year’s event will mark both a milestone and a transition,” said Heather Meeker, Executive Director of Curated Storefront. “With arts advocates Kim and Harvey Nelson, the organization will honor Executive Director Emeritus Rick Rogers’ founding vision and look ahead to Curated Storefront’s next decade of creative placemaking alongside civic, business, and cultural leaders across Summit County. The evening will feature great food, music, and exciting art installations showcasing local, regional, and national artists.”

“We are deeply grateful to Kim and Harvey for their generous support as Honorary Co-chairs and Presenting Sponsors. Their commitment makes our public art program possible and enables artists to contribute to Akron’s vibrancy,” added Meeker.

Curated Storefront’s public art programs and the artists who create them help drive the creative heartbeat of Akron’s economy. Every mural, window installation, and sculpture invites people to linger, explore, and take pride in the vital downtown spaces we share. These efforts strengthen downtown Akron by attracting visitors, increasing foot traffic, and supporting local businesses. Moreover, they sustain paid opportunities for artists.
