METRO RTA Offers Free Fares Through End of Year on METRO Direct, ADA, and SCAT
December 2, 2025, Summit County — METRO Regional Transit Authority waives fares on METRO Direct, ADA, and SCAT services starting December 3, 2025, through December 31, 2025. This includes free rides on the x61 Northcoast Express to Cleveland.
This initiative is an extension of the Giving Tuesday holiday and follows METRO previously providing complimentary rides during the government shutdown. By waiving fares, METRO RTA aims to remove transportation barriers and provide relief to our transit-loyal members of the Summit County community during the holiday season.
"We are committed to our community, and we know that having reliable, accessible transportation makes a huge difference for our riders, especially during the holidays," said METRO Chief of Staff Jarrod Hampshire, “This temporary fare suspension for METRO Direct, ADA, and SCAT is simply about making life a little easier for the community members who rely on us every day for essential trips.”
