Musicians DASHIEL & AV to Perform a Duo Set at Wild Oscar’s at the Akron Civic Theatre, Saturday, December 20, 2025

December 2, 2025, Akron, OH — Cincinnati-based musician Av (Avery Green) and Brooklyn-based musician Dashiel (Dashiel Rowland) will bring a dynamic, cross-genre duo performance to Wild Oscar’s at The Akron Civic Theatre on Saturday, December 20, 2025. The pair—both multi-instrumentalists, composers, and producers—will present an immersive set that reimagines each other’s work through shared influences, live improvisation, and flexible instrumental roles.

Dashiel, a genre-fluid songwriter and producer who grew up in Los Angeles and Akron, has been crafting music for over a decade, melding bits of hip-hop, jazz, electronic production, indie, and ballad writing. After studying in New Orleans and later working in TV post-production in Los Angeles, he relocated to Brooklyn, where he now works as a political organizer—most recently contributing to the election of mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, while collaborating closely with groups such as DSA, the Working Families Party, and JFREJ. By night, he writes and records from his bedroom studio.

Avery, a Northern Kentucky–born multi-instrumentalist and composer, has spent years developing a highly personal fusion of jazz harmony, electronic/ambient production, and experimental rhythmic concepts. A longtime drummer and keyboardist shaped by Cincinnati’s jazz community, he has been composing and producing solo work for the past seven years. In 2026, he will release a new experimental electronic album.

Dashiel and Avery met in Brooklyn through their mutual friend Eden Marsh—also a Cincinnati native—and quickly began sharing works-in-progress, trading ideas, and collaborating on each other’s projects. Last December, the three performed together as a trio at Wild Oscar’s; this year, Avery and Dashiel return as a duo, bringing an expanded and more intricate format.

For this performance, the two will move fluidly across instruments from song to song—keys, vocals, drums, guitar, and synths—sometimes trading roles, sometimes blending them, and occasionally weaving live track elements into the set. The music will span jazz-inflected experimental rap, electronic and ambient explorations, soulful ballads, and high-energy percussive pieces. Some moments will be sparse and intimate; others explosive, improvised, and rhythmically adventurous.

The show represents the culmination of their overlapping yet distinct musical sensibilities—an evening that reframes their individual catalogs through collaboration, spontaneity, and a shared commitment to boundary-pushing performance.
