Bounce Innovation Hub Announces Silent Auction for Two Tickets Aboard the Goodyear Blimp

Akron, OH – 08/07/25 — Bounce Innovation Hub has launched a silent auction for two seats aboard the iconic Goodyear Blimp as part of the 2025 PNC Startup Showcase. This auction coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Blimp’s first flight, which took off in Akron on June 3, 1925, as well as the city of Akron’s bicentennial celebration.

“We’re thrilled to offer such a rare and unforgettable experience to support Bounce’s mission,” said Jessica Sublett, President & CEO of Bounce Innovation Hub. “The Goodyear Blimp is an iconic symbol of innovation and pride for Akron, and with both the blimp’s 100th anniversary and Akron’s bicentennial this year, the timing couldn’t be more perfect. It’s a celebration of our city’s legacy and its future.”

The proceeds of this silent auction will be used to support Bounce in its strategic plan to provide resources to local entrepreneurs and drive economic growth and prosperity in Northeast Ohio as part of the fundraising efforts of the Startup Showcase.

The Startup Showcase, taking place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5:00–9:00 PM, brings together entrepreneurs, investors, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate innovation in Northeast Ohio. The event will be held at Bounce Innovation Hub’s newly renovated space in downtown Akron.

The starting bid for the two-seat experience is $1,500, with $100 bid increments. The auction will close at 7:30 PM EST during the Startup Showcase, and the winner will be announced during the program. Participants are encouraged to attend the event to place their bids, though winners do not need to be present to claim the prize. Tickets to the event can be purchased on Bounce’s Eventbrite page.
