An Ohio premiere of the 2015 Olivier Award winner for Best New Play at Ohio Shakespeare

“For soon at last, you will be king…”

Prince Charles has spent his entire life in a state of waiting. But now, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away, and the erstwhile prince finally receives his chance to ascend the British throne. His idealism is put to the test almost immediately, and the popularity of Prince William and Princess Kate proves threatening. This Olivier award-winning script is written in the style of a Shakespearean history play, and will challenge the audience to wonder: is there room for idealism in the modern political world?

Complete with iambic pentameter but featuring the modern-day royal family, this play will intrigue an audience of Shakespeare fans and beyond.
