Akron Zoo kicks off their Brew at the Zoo events on June 17 with new VIP ticket

The Akron Zoo will host its first of three Brew at the Zoo events this year on Saturday, June 17, from 6:30 – 10:30 p.m. with a 1980’s theme. The zoo is offering a new VIP ticket this year with special perks.

Visitors are encouraged to wear their 1980’s attire and DJ Kenny Kidd will be spinning 80’s tunes. The entire zoo will be open and all the animals will be on exhibit. There will be 15 vendors on hand, many serving their summer ales and wines.

Attendees will receive eight free tastings and a giveaway. Additional tasting cards are available for $10 and full-sized beers and glasses of wine will be available for $4. Vendors attending the June event will be: Aqueduct Brewing, Brew Kettle Taproom, Fat Heads Brewing Co., Hoppin’ Frog Brewery, Jackie O’s Pub & Brewery, Man Can Wine, Maize Valley Winery & Craft Beer, Maumee Bay Brewing Co., Millersburg Brewing Co., Mucky Duck Brewing & NautiVine Winery, R. L. Lipton Distributing Co., R. Shea Brewing, Rivertowne Brewery & Barrel House, Wadsworth Brewing Co. and Wild Ohio Brewing Co. The zoo will have several food trucks on-hand too including Square Scullery, Betty’s Bombass Burgers and Ye Olde School treats.

For the first time ever guests can purchase VIP tickets and receive early entry at 6 p.m. and have access to an indoor reserved seating area with appetizers, three additional tastings, one full-sized beverage and a special souvenir.

Tickets are $27 for Akron Zoo members and $33 for non-Akron Zoo members. Designated driver tickets are also available for $16 for an Akron Zoo member and $22 for a non-Akron Zoo member.
