5th Annual Downtown Akron Fall Fest to Bring Trick-or-Treat to Main Street October 17
October 2, 2026, Akron, Ohio — Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) is pleased to announce that the Downtown Akron Fall Fest will return for its fifth year of kid-oriented, Halloween-themed fun on Saturday, October 17, from 4 to 7 pm along Main Street and in Locks 3 and 4.
DAP Communications Director Dominic Caruso says, “Downtown Akron Fall Fest has become an anticipated family-friendly celebration, welcoming close to 7,000 children and families to Main St. and Lock 3 over the last 3 years. We’re proud to see the event grow and be embraced by the Akron community as an opportunity to gather together and experience an evening of joyful fun in the heart of downtown.”
Trick-or-treat stations will be presented by various local businesses and organizations, including the City of Akron Recreation and Parks, Buckeye Credit Union, METRO RTA, Bar Phoenix & The Phoenix Room, Insomnia Cookies, Akron Children’s Hospital, Summit County Children’s Services, Akron Police Department, and Akron History Center, Barley House, Chill Ice Cream with more expected to join. In addition to candy, nonedible trinkets will be available at the trick-or-treat stations for those who have food allergies, in alignment with the Teal Pumpkin Project.
In addition to trick-or-treat stations, free crafts and activities will be open to all at Lock 3 including mini pumpkin decorating, s’mores roasting, stilt walkers, a spooky express railroad, face painting, and a roaming magician. We will also have a costume contest and photo opportunities with beloved fictional characters, along with music by DJ Vinnie G. Food trucks will be on-site offering snacks and refreshments.

Downtown Akron Fall Fest is presented by Downtown Akron Partnership. Community Advocate Sponsorships have been provided by the Summit County Prosecutor's Office and Buckeye State Credit Union.
