3rd annual Akron Ale Fest celebrates Ohio local craft beers and artisans in August

On August 4, 1-5pm, Crafty Mart will host the 3rd annual Akron Ale Fest at the Trolley Barn (47 N. Main St.) in downtown Akron. Tickets can be purchased at The cost of $45 for drinkers includes an Akron Ale Fest 2018 tasting glass and 20 beer tickets. Tickets are just $10 for those taking on the important role of designated driver. There is no need to print out tickets; however, all attendees must bring their ID.

Akron Ale Fest will feature over 15 of northeast Ohio’s exciting craft beer brewers, including Thirsty Dog, Hopping Frog, Canton Brewing, and Royal Docks. In between pours, ticketholders will also be able to shop from over 10 local artisans.

Whiskertin brightens the day with their one-of-a-kind lighting fixtures. Champaign Paper offers high quality, unique stationary and greeting cards. The Social Dept. fills the need for Ohio-themed t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

But what is beer and shopping without food? Fire Truck Pizza Co. and The Pierogi Lady will be on hand to keep bellies filled with some tasty treats. Of course, these are only just some of the vendors that will be at Akron Ale Fest which is created and hosted by Crafty Mart.

Crafty Mart, the Rubber City’s longest-running handmade indie marketplace, hosts a bi-annual multi-venue craft show that showcases over 70 of the best handmade makers regionally and draws thousands of shoppers to Akron’s downtown, along with occasional pop up markets with community partners all over town.

These events, in addition to Akron Ale Fest and Last Call at Goodyear Hall, which combine handmade crafts and craft beer, celebrate some of the best products Ohio has to offer. Crafty Mart encourages shoppers to reconsider big-box retailers as their go-to shopping experience and #shoplocal instead.
