“We’re looking forward to giving families the opportunity to have a meaningful experience together in the presence of the dazzling artwork that is currently on view,” said Marketing Manager Dominic Caruso. “This is a great event to experience the impressive ceramics, paintings and drawings of Jun Kaneko in Blurred Lines, along with the whimsical work of Ed Emberley in Ed Emberley: Better You Than Me, the paintings and wall drawings in Frameworks, the innovative photographic work of Jerry Birchfield and the masterpieces in the collection galleries.”
Families can create a keepsake artwork of their own to commemorate the day. The art museum will provide a springtime flower planter with an assortment of vibrant colors and decoration choices for participants to craft a unique design to take home with them.
Mother’s Day Open House at the Akron Art Museum is $35 for museum member adults; $50 for non-members; and free for children under 17 with an adult ticket. Tickets can be purchased online at www.AkronArtMuseum.org/eventregistration.
