Ephraim Nehemiah is a poet, performer and interactive installation artist whose work is rooted in protestant preacher performance and African American oral tradition. He is creating a multimedia project that directly confronts poverty, an issue he has been personally impacted by. Through story, poetry and artifact, Nehemiah seeks to change the perceptions and attitudes towards those experiencing poverty. The project will culminate in a public reading at Jilly's Music Room a fundraiser event, with all proceeds going to those who contributed their stories. Doors open at 7 p.m. and starts at 7:30 p.m.
