Fall Fest returns to downtown Akron on Saturday, October 21, from 5 to 9 pm. This Halloween-themed family event will feature trick-or-treat stations on Main St. from 5 to 7 pm, music by local band Wishgarden, food, a fire pit lounge, pumpkin decorating, and a free showing of the popular 1993 movie, Hocus Pocus, at 7:30 pm. There will also be a special visit from the Ohio Garrison of the 501st Legion, an international STAR WARS costuming club, as well as the Cleveland Ghostbusters, Akron Bike Party, and the Akron Roller Derby.

Additionally, Summit County Historical Society will be leading a haunted tour of downtown Akron from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Tickets for the tour cost $20 and include an hour-long walk and one DORA drink.

Food vendors include Bereka Coffee, Essential Dipped Delights, La Reina Boricua, Dr. Hibachi, and Cookies BBQ. DAP will have local craft brews and specialty drinks available for purchase in the Shed on the plaza.

Parking:

Thinking about parking for tomorrow's 2nd Annual Downtown Akron Fall Fest? Here is a little video for how to park and get to Cascade Plaza.

  • Akron Centre Parking Deck is the easiest and closest deck, and it is free on weekends. Park in the deck and go to Level 4 to take the bridge across W. Mill St. and you'll exit directly onto Cascade Plaza.
  • Other nearby options include the Cascade Parking Garage, which is underground, beneath Cascade Plaza.
  • And, the deck at Market and S. High (next to the Akron Summit County Public Library) is also a good, free option.
  • The State Street parking deck near the Akron Civic Theatre is an option, however, there may be increased traffic there because of the Bob Dylan concert at the Civic Saturday night. It is recommended that Fall Fest visitors use one of the other decks mentioned above.

Downtown Akron Fall Fest Photo Contest

Graphic image that shows what one of the downtown Akron Fall Fest Photospots looks like (it's a circle with orange and white stripes and a ghost illustration)

We've placed 5 photospots along the Trick or Treat route on Main St. Take a picture of yourself standing on one of them and post it to either Facebook, Instagram or TikTok (it can be a video, if you want) and tag Downtown Akron Partnership so we'll see it. We'll choose 3 winners on Monday, October 23 for some cool downtown Akron prizes!

Fall Fest is presented by Downtown Akron Partnership with support from the City of Akron, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and Ohio Arts Council.
