24th Annual Kaleidoscope Juried Exhibition
Kaleidoscope is an annual holiday show presented by the Alliance for the Visual Arts (AVA). This show is open to all members of AVA organizations: Akron Society of Artists (ASA), Artists of Rubber City (AoRC), Cuyahoga Valley Art Center (CVAC), Medina County Art League (MCAL), Ohio Collage Society (OSC), Artists of Group 10, and Women’s Art League of Akron (WAL). This year’s exhibition is juried by Valerie Metzger, Curator of Art and Artifacts at the Massillon Museum.
Grace Transcends the Withered Root | Kya Granger
Created in a time of personal hardship, Grace Transcends the Withered Root embraces experimentation within the photographic process. Kya Granger investigates the relationship between self-portraiture and nature to represent themes of identity, loss, and transformation. From stark black and white imagery featuring scarce or decaying plant life to vibrant compositions with blooming flowers and flourishing vegetation, the series reflects a transition from grief and emotional turmoil toward healing, renewal, and a restored sense of self.
Artists of Rubber City Member Exhibition
Based in Akron, Ohio, Artists of Rubber City (est. 1978) is a network of artists and art lovers who support each other’s creative endeavors. If you are interested in where the rubber hits the road in the Akron art community, this is the show for you!
Bad Girls | Group Exhibition
Bad Girls is a series of thought-provoking paintings from Kent State University’s BFA graduates Adiah Bonham, Marissa Cox, Yael-lee Israeli, Cassie Jeffries, and Carla Wagner. Working together in a shared studio space from January–May of 2025, these artists connected through memories, growth, leadership, and taking risks in their own artistic pursuit. Moreover, this show reflects the passion and drive that these women hold as emerging confident artists.
The Campaign | Ryan Cermak
Using the mechanics of role-playing games, Ryan Cermak creates an interactive exhibition in which the viewer becomes an adventurer navigating a fantasy world within the parameters of a traditional gallery setting. Inspiration for this body of work stems from the pulpy fantasy magazine Heavy Metal and trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering. These games reference common tropes from age-old myths and legends and repurpose them to relate to a modern audience.
