Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) announces the inaugural Downtown Akron South Asian Celebration, which will take place at Cascade Plaza on April 28 from noon to 4 pm.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees can look forward to cultural performances by local entertainment groups, Bollywood music, a free craft courtesy of The University of Akron’s Zips Activity Board, Holi color powder, food, dancing and vendors selling handmade goods.

The celebration will honor South Asian culture and springtime holidays and new year celebrations that take place throughout the region.

  • Face painting by Sunshine Expressions
  • Free blown painting craft and free flower craft led by The University of Akron Zips Activity Board
  • Free Holi Colors for play in a Holi Color Zone on the plaza
  • Free balloon creations from The Suite
  • Free Photobooth
