Akron's affordable family friendly entertainment. Lock 3 is located next to the Akron Civic Theatre in downtown Akron. Each summer Lock 3 features a dynamic variety of entertainment, including concerts and festivals.
The excitement doesn't end when the weather turns cold. November - February, Lock 3 is home to two ice rinks, historic holiday displays, and Akron's very own Archie the Talking Snowman.
Lock 3 recently underwent renovations as part of the Lock 3 Vision Plan, a key component of the resident-led Akron Civic Commons 2.0 project to build on the success of Lock 3 as a successful event, concert and festival public space and develop a year-round destination for residents, guests, hikers, and bicyclists along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.
