Poerty: Crackin' & Poppin' at The Peanut Shoppe is a free monthly poetry contest designed to give young people, ages 5-13, the opportunity to showcase their poetic talent while encouraging the creative writing process through a collaboration with The Peanut Shoppe, a local business that is fun, family friendly, and represents the uniqueness and positivity of the city and is communities.

Guidelines: The contest is free and open to anyone ages 5-13 years old and held every month. Youth must write an original poem with the given theme for the month. All entries must have the theme and the author's first and last name and age. Seven poems will be chosen as the winners of the contest each month. There is a permission form that needs to be filled out and signed by a parent/guardian with completed contact info and mailed in. Poems need to be received by the last day of each month. Winners will be contacted by email.

Prizes for the contest include small boxes of popcorn, peanuts and candy. The winning poems will be displayed on the website and inside The Peanut Shoppe.
