Akron Zoo to host Summer Safari on Aug. 9
The Akron Zoo will hold its annual fundraiser, Summer Safari, on Friday, Aug. 9 from 7 – 10 p.m. The fundraiser benefits the zoo and all of its animals.
During the event, guests will enjoy visiting the zoo, food, drinks and music. The event will include a live and silent auction, with items such as Akron Zoo behind-the-scenes tours, a year membership to the Akron Area YMCA, hot air balloon ride and more available. People can bid on items online via GiveSmart and bidding will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 9.
Raffle tickets are also available to win the grand prize of two tickets to Super Bowl LIV, a two-night hotel stay and an airfare voucher. Raffle tickets are $100 each.
Event tickets are $100 each for general admission and $250 for patrons. Patron tickets include admission into the Patron Party from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Akron Zoo box office or akronzoo.org/summer-safari. Summer Safari is presented by the Lehner Family Foundation and Robert O. & Annamae Orr Family Foundation.
The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and admission is $13 for adults, $11 for senior citizens, $10 for children (ages 2-14).
