DEVELOPMENT DESCRIPTION: Opening to the public in June 1994, this 129,000 S.F. facility features a 15,000 S.F. conference center area, 30,000 S.F. of exhibit space, a multi-purpose rotunda lobby, a 15,000 S.F. banquet hall, and 18 meeting rooms. At a cost of $33 million, this investment helped lay the foundation for redevelopment efforts in Downtown Akron.
The Knight Center attracts a variety of users including trade shows, consumer shows, conferences, conventions, and special community events.
Home to concerts; home improvement, garden, and art shows; and lavish galas, the John S. Knight Center is "the" place to host an event in the Akron area. Conveniently located between Cleveland, Columbus and Pittsburgh, in Downtown Akron, The John S. Knight Center serves Akron, regional and national clients for events of every kind and size. Founded in 1994, the center was named in honor of the founder of the Akron Beacon Journal and Knight Publishing Company.
