About Artists of Rubber City:
AoRC is a nonprofit arts organization with a mission of advocating for local artists and encouraging the appreciation and ownership of local art. The group was founded in 1978 by a group of University of Akron art students and graduates who were seeking exhibition opportunities for their work. The new gallery, the BOX, fulfills that goal. In addition, AoRC sponsors an annual juried show each spring, which draws artists from throughout northeast Ohio. Members are active in a wide variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, pottery, wearable art and video.
