A Chanticleer Christmas is a renowned annual holiday concert event, typically featuring a mix of Renaissance motets, traditional carols, spirituals, and modern arrangements.
Chanticleer – an “orchestra of voices” named for the “clear-singing” rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, is a Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble hailed by the Boston Globe as “breathtaking in its accuracy of intonation, purity of blend, of color and swagger of style.” Rooted in the Renaissance, Chanticleer’s repertoire has expanded to include classical, gospel, jazz and popular music and reflects a deep commitment to the commissioning of new compositions and arrangements.
