Movies on the big screen every Thursday at 6:30 pm. Relax and enjoy classics or recent blockbusters in Main Library’s auditorium. Free parking on weekdays after 6 pm with a voucher from the Library.

Strike up the band with these fabulous musicals!

December 7, 6:30 pm: "Flying Down to Rio" (1933)

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in their first pairing, where they dance "La Carioca." Bandleader Gene Raymond tries to woo the lovely Delores del Rio, with interference from suitor Raul Roulien, 89 min.

December 14, 6:30 pm: "Phantom of the Paradise" (1974)

Songwriter Paul Williams stars in this cult classic by director Brian De Palma. A smash-up of Faust and "Phantom of the Opera," a composer and a record mogul battle over the song rights for a rock opera sung by Jessica Harper, PG, 91 min.

December 21, 6:30 pm: "Stormy Weather" (1943)

An all-star cast puts on a show, with music and dancing in this ground-breaking celebration. Featuring Lena Horne, Bill Robinson, Cab Calloway & his Cotton Club Orchestra, The Nicholas Brothers, Fats Waller (his last screen role), Dooley Wilson (“You Must Remember This”), Ada Brown, and Katherine Dunham and Her Troupe, 78 min.

December 28, 6:30 pm: "Viva Las Vegas" (1964)

The Elvis classic with the tagline “Elvis is at the wheel but Ann-Margret drives him wild!” A must-see musical experience! 85 min.

Get your parking validation ticket at the Security Desk and then relax in Main Library's 400-seat auditorium.
