Slow movements and mindful breathing make tai chi and qigong ideal exercises for all ages and physical abilities. This three-week series is taught by Nancy Gardner.

No registration is necessary.

Spend your lunchtime at Main Library with the smooth, relaxing movements of tai chi and qigong—mind-body exercises that improve health, balance, and focus. The sessions are held outside near the Main Street entrance, weather permitting, or inside on the first floor in front of the Business, Government and Science desk on Tuesday, August 4, August 11, and August 18.

Tai chi and qigong, incorporate slow movements, proper posture, and mindful breathing. Practiced regularly, they offer many benefits. Tai Chi, a form of qigong, is a low-impact, weight-bearing martial art. Qigong, which means "energy cultivation," includes movement, meditative, and medical practices.

Wear exercise shoes, comfortable clothes, and bring a water bottle.

Instructor Nancy Gardner is certified in tai chi, kung fu, and qigong She is also a licensed massage therapist and polarity therapy practitioner with nearly 40 years experience. She teaches weekly Tai Chi and Qigong class in Fairlawn, Ohio, and offers unique programs for groups, organizations, libraries, and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Nancy Gardner is a certified instructor of Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and Qigong, a licensed massage therapist, and a polarity therapy practitioner. A professional in her field for nearly 40 years, she teaches a weekly Tai Chi and Qigong class in Fairlawn, Ohio, and offers unique programs for groups, organizations, various library branches, and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
