Come out THIS FRIDAY for the free opening night of our Summer Exhibition season on July 7 from 5-8 p.m. The eight exhibitions opening in the Summit Artspace galleries and throughout the building showcase a diverse group of local artists. The reception will provide a wonderful opportunity to meet exhibiting artists, hear their stories, and engage with the community.

“I DID IT MY WAY” by Patricia Zinsmeister Parker, featuring her narrative abstract expressionist paintings, which are influenced by her personal life experiences, emotions, and intuition, throughout her five-decade career.

“The Art of Rex Mitchell”, acrylic paintings that are reminiscent of French Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, in partnership with Summit DD.

“The Art of a Lifetime” by Joseph T. Dick (the original Zippy illustrator!), showcases his photographs and other artworks which encourage the viewer to “give yourself the time to stop, to look, and to appreciate and feel your connection with life.”

“Human: Nature” is a group exhibition with sculptures by Palli Davene Davis and paintings by Donna Coleman, Sarah Schuster and Jean Kondo Weigl. Their artworks collectively reflect a shared concern for how humans interact with nature and each other.

“Disorganized Attachment” by Debra DeGregorio explores disorganized attachment, a term used in psychology to describe a relationship style that both yearns for closeness and builds walls to protect, through her rendered and collaged artworks.

Artists of Rubber City will host three new shows in The Box Gallery over the next 3 months. Gwen Everhard’s “Art: 85 Years of Color” will be on view from July 7 through July 29.

The Summit Artspace's summer exhibitions will be on view Fridays 12 p.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. through September 16.
