Join StarFall Creative Collective for the grand opening of the Community Art Supply Pantry and our fall Craft Destash Bash at Summit Artspace. This free community event is an opportunity to declutter, donate, swap, browse, and take home art and craft supplies. You do not need to bring anything to participate, and there is no cost to take materials.
The Community Art Supply Pantry is a new permanent, year-round mutual-aid resource created to make art materials more accessible and keep usable creative supplies in the community rather than going to waste. Community members can visit the pantry to find free art and craft materials for personal projects, creative exploration, teaching, community programs, and more. The pantry's regular public hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 12–5 PM during Summit Artspace hours.
For the September 26 Craft Destash Bash, attendees are welcome to bring clean, safe, dry, and usable art or craft supplies they no longer need. Unlike regular pantry donations, no advance donation appointment is required during the Craft Destash Bash. Materials can include drawing and painting supplies, paper and art surfaces, fiber and sewing materials, beads and jewelry supplies, clay and sculpture materials, collage and decorative materials, adhesives, craft kits, art and craft books or patterns, children's art activities, organizational supplies, and other usable creative materials. Please do not bring damaged, moldy, pest-affected, smoke-damaged, strongly odorous, leaking, hazardous, or otherwise unusable materials.
Donating is completely optional. Everyone is welcome to browse and take materials whether or not they have anything to contribute. We encourage visitors to bring a reusable bag or box for anything they would like to take home.
The pantry is located near the loading dock area of Summit Artspace. Visitors can enter through Summit Artspace's main public entrance and use the interior ramps for step-free/wheelchair-accessible access to the pantry. Those bringing donations may pull up near the loading dock for easier unloading. Free parking is available, and children are welcome with an accompanying adult.
The StarFall Community Art Supply Pantry was made possible with support from an ArtsNow ArtsForward grant. StarFall Creative Collective is a volunteer-led Northeast Ohio arts initiative centered on accessibility, mutual aid, creative reuse, and reducing financial barriers to participating in the arts.
