January 29, 2020, Akron, Ohio — Wandering Aesthetics is thrilled to announce their inaugural winter youth production of the classic children’s story “The Velveteen Rabbit” by Margery Williams and adapted for the stage by Wandering Aesthetics. Under the direction of Wandering Aesthetics’ co-founders Kyle Jozsa and Benjamin Rexroad, “The Velveteen Rabbit” is a unique piece straight out of a child’s imagination, devised by a group of talented young artists who worked as an ensemble to bring their vision to the stage.

“The Velveteen Rabbit” will be performed at The Center (118 W. Market St. • Akron, OH 44303) over two weekends, beginning Friday, February 14th and ending on Sunday, February 23rd. Tickets are $15.00 and are available now at watheatre.com/boxoffice.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
“Once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”

True love comes in many forms– many of which are not romantic-type loves. “The Velveteen Rabbit” is a story about the transformative power of love and the magic of childhood.

Incorporating pieces of Margery William's beautiful text and Americana songs, Wandering Aesthetics’ The Velveteen Rabbit  is a unique and playful journey into the imagination of a child, devised entirely by the young ensemble.

Wandering Aesthetics’ 2018 youth adaptation of “The Jungle Book” was nominated for 11 Ohio Youth Arts Awards, including “Best Play” and “Best Director”.
