Victim Assistance Program to Honor Victims of Homicide at Annual Angel Tree Ceremony

The Annual Angel Tree Ceremony, hosted by Victim Assistance Program, will take place on Monday, December 2nd from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Akron-Summit County Public Library Auditorium, 60 South High Street in Akron. The ceremony will honorthe memory of over 1,000 victims lost in Summit County due to violence over the last 25 years.

Victim Assistance Program invites community members, friends, and family members of homicide victims to attend and remember their loved one by placing an Angel ornament on one of the Angel Trees on display. Prior to the ceremony, family members and friends may contribute a picture (5x7) of their loved one for the Wall of Remembrance by calling Victim Assistance Program at 330.376.7022. Throughout the month of December, both the Angel Trees and the Wall of Remembrance will remain on display at the Akron-Summit County Public Library.

The event is free and open to the public. To register for the event, visit www.2019angeltreeceremony.eventbrite.com. Victim Assistance Program is also looking for donations to help offset expenses associated with the event. Some items needed include, paper products, refreshments, and keepsake items for families.
