The Experience Barber & Beauty Shop now open in downtown Akron
The Experience Barber & Beauty Shop is now open at 88 E. Mill St. in downtown Akron. Services include hair cutting, shampoos, beard trims, shaving and more for men, women and children. The shop is the newest client in Downtown Akron Partnership's pop-up program and provides a relaxing atmosphere, professional service and competitive prices.
The Experience Barbershop is owned and operated by DeShawn Johnson whose mission is to create an atmosphere conducive to the comfort of all colors, creeds and ethnicities. Clients can expect professionalism, excellent service and comfort while in the shop.
"I've been in business for nine months and wouldn't want to be anywhere else," said Johnson. "This is the perfect location. It suits my vision and allows me to be a service to all people."
As leader of the team at the downtown Akron shop, Johnson looks forward to growth and development as well as relationships that will be cultivated by being connected. Johnson is also the CEO of LionHeart LLC which includes being an author and owner of the Streetlite music label.
The Experience Barber & Beauty Shop is open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Interested clients can call 330-475-2522 to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.
The Downtown Akron Partnership pop-up program began in 2015 provides rental assistance for the first six months to new businesses in the district. Since its inception, more than 40 new businesses have opened and range from retail and businesses, to many vendors in the Northside Marketplace. Phase four is supported by Burton D. Morgan Foundation. Any new business, not just retail storefronts, interested in space within the Special Improvement District is eligible for the program.
