Summit Artspace’s Natalie Grieshammer Promoted to Director of Artist Resources

Akron, OHIO (September 1, 2021) — Natalie Grieshammer, an arts professional at Summit Artspace, was recently promoted from Director of Galleries & Exhibitions to Director of Artist Resources. Her new role, effective September 1, 2021, is a full-time, permanent position that will focus on strategies for resourcing artists.

Grieshammer was hired as Director of Galleries & Exhibitions at Summit Artspace in March 2021. Before joining the staff, she was a member of Summit Artspace’s board for one year beginning in January 2020.

"I'm thrilled to be dedicated to Summit Artspace in a full-time capacity. As part of my new role, I will direct the expansion of our artist resource programs to include more individualized and targeted professional support for artists," said Grieshammer.

“This is the first time in Summit Artspace’s history that a second full-time professional has joined the staff,” notes Heather Meeker, Summit Artspace’s Executive Director. “Natalie’s experience and contributions will prove invaluable as we listen to local artists to better understand their needs, and work to provide them with what they need to grow and sustain their work.”

Grieshammer is an arts administrator, artist and musician from Akron, Ohio. She holds her B.F.A. in Fiber and Material Studies from the Cleveland Institute of Art and her M.A. in Arts Administration from The University of Akron. Past positions include Gallery Director at Praxis Fiber Workshop, Member Program Manager at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and numerous programming and fundraising responsibilities at Akron Soul Train. Grieshammer is also Strategic Planning Advisor and Partner at Akron Recording Company, a recording studio and record label founded in 2018. Recently, she was recognized by the Greater Akron Chamber as a recipient of the 30 for the Future Award.
