Staying Safe—Together! Akron-Summit County Public Library Reopens

July 29, 2020, Akron, OH - As of July 27, 2020, Akron-Summit County Public Library has reopened its buildings to the public. The full details of the library's reopening plan are available on the library website. Details include

 

  • Returned materials are quarantined for 72 hours to ensure they are ready for checkout
  • Regular cleaning / sanitizing of public spaces
  • Mandatory masks at all times
  • One-way aisles
  • Physical distancing reminders and expectations. Furniture has been rearranged a bit to accommodate this – limited seating, computers, and reduced computer time limits
  • “At-risk only” hours from 10 – 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays

 

Lastly, those who are not yet comfortable coming in to public spaces can continue taking advantage of the library's digital card and digital collection [https://www.akronlibrary.org/account/library-card#onlineLibCard] and/or Outside Pickup service [https://www.akronlibrary.org/services/outside-pick-up-service].
