METRO RTA Announces Service Change Beginning August 23rd.

August 20, 2020, Akron, OH — METRO’s Fall 2020 Contingency Schedule will go into effect Sunday, August 23, 2020. The schedule change will bring 81-percent of bus service back on the road with the reintroduction of Sunday service and revised weekday and Saturday trips.

“We are striving to create mobility solutions to serve the needs of our passengers while considering the responsible use of our resources and maintaining our high safety standards as we adapt to the new ‘normal,’” said CEO Dawn Distler.

Please check digital schedules on akronmetro.org for time adjustments. Notable changes include:

• Route #1 will service restaurant hill in Montrose and the Akron General Health and Wellness Center hourly on trips leaving the Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center at the top of the hour.

• On Sundays only, customers transferring from Route #1 to Route #2 will need to switch buses at the Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center. The Route #1 and Route #2 will remain interlined on weekdays and Saturdays.

The following routes remain suspended until further notice: Route #50 Montrose, Route #51 Stow, Route #53 Portage/Graham, Route #59 Chapel Hill, DASH, Grocery Bus, and x60 service to Cleveland.
