Free Akron Symphony Orchestra Concert in Firestone Park

August 3, 2021, Akron, OH — The Akron Symphony Orchestra presents its Outside Voices Concert Series at Firestone Park on August 8 at 7:30 p.m.

The free concert, presented in partnership with the City of Akron, will feature the Akron Symphony Virtuosi performing works from Scott Joplin, David Amram, W.C. Handy, John Philip Sousa and more.

Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on during the performances. There will also be food and beverages available for purchase from Kait’s Carts, our exclusive food truck partner for the concert, so be sure to stop by to grab a bite to eat before or during the performance.

The Outside Voices Concert Series focuses on the music of under-represented composers who are “outside” of the standard repertoire, along with numerous audience favorites. The series presents an opportunity for the ASO to expand its musical offerings and share a diversity of composers with the Northeast Ohio community, according to Music Director Christopher Wilkins.

While all the concerts in the Outside Voices series are free, we ask that those planning to attend RSVP by filling out a brief form on the concert pages at akronsymphony.org. As our way of saying “thank you,” everyone who RSVPs will be entered into a drawing for two tickets to an ASO Classic Series concert at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall during the 2021-22 season.

Firestone Park is located at 1480 Girard Street in Akron.

Please note: Concerts are weather dependent. All programming subject to change
