Five Lunch on Main Events Left This Summer

Akron, Ohio — There are only five weeks left to attend Downtown Akron Partnership’s (DAP) Lunch on Main summer concert series that takes place on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Main Street sidewalk in front of Lock 3.

Lunch on Main is a lunchtime event featuring intimate musical performances by local artists, yard games, and the opportunity for passersby to pick up lunch from nearby downtown restaurants, sit down at bistro tables on the Main Street sidewalk, and enjoy the music. Lunch on Main events so far this summer have seen performances by artists such as the Victor Samalot duo, Miki Saito, Marc Lee Shannon, and Rachel Roberts.

DAP Communications Director Dominic Caruso says, “Lunch on Main concerts are a fun way to take a moment, change gears, and really enjoy your lunch break. Whether you’re working downtown or visiting, it’s always great to get away from the desk and just reset with good food, cool music, and summer sun.”

Five Remaining Performances

August 10 | Tom Guarino

August 17 | Jen Maurer/Jackson Boling Duo

August 24 | Victor Samalot

August 31 | Steel Drum Trio

September 7 | Hubb's Groove

Two Happy Hours Remain, too

DAP also has two Happy Hour on Main events planned, one for Thursday, August 25, featuring JT’s Electrik Blackout, and the second on Thursday, September 29, featuring Steel Drum Trio. Both Happy Hours are held from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. in Lock 3. Food and beverages are available from the Lock 3 concession area, as well as surrounding eateries. The event is a perfect lead-in to other downtown events, such as Line Dancing on the Plaza (Thursdays, 6:30 – 7:30 pm), or upcoming concerts at the Civic Theatre, or a dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Live music during Lunch on Main and Happy Hour on Main is made possible with support from Ohio Arts Council.
