City of Akron Offices Reopen for In-person Services and General Public Access Beginning Today

Akron, Ohio, June 15, 2021 — Beginning today, Tuesday, June 15, 2021, City of Akron offices will reopen for in-person services and general public access.  This includes in-person services like applying for employment, building permits, and vendor’s licenses; paying utility bills, taxes or fees; filing public records requests or claims for discrimination; or registering rental properties.

“Bringing the public back into our customer service areas is a significant step in our reopening process,” said Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan. “We are excited to welcome residents and guests back into our buildings to once again offer another way to access important services offered by the City.”

Visitors will be encouraged to maintain six feet of distance from others, wear facial coverings if they are not fully vaccinated, and continue to follow safe hygiene practices. For those who are fully vaccinated, a facial covering is not required. There may also be additional instructions regarding maximum occupancy when receiving services at individual offices.
