“Labor Day honors the creation of the labor movement in America,” said Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan. “All across the country, and certainly here in Akron, we witness every day how the efforts of our workers have made our neighborhoods stronger and more prosperous.  As you celebrate the holiday, please take pause to pay tribute to the contributions of all those whose labor built our communities and continues to help us thrive.  We also urge all our residents to remember that COVID-19 still poses a serious threat to the health of our community, and to limit gatherings, wear masks, and practice diligent hand hygiene to prevent the spread of this virus.”
