Boo at the Akron Zoo kicks off on Oct. 13

Boo at the Akron Zoo will run on Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 13-14, 20-21 & 27-28 from 11:30 – 7:30 p.m. Presale tickets holders will receive admission into the event at 11 a.m.

At Boo at the Zoo, presented by Acme Fresh Market, guests can dress in costume and trick-or-treat at the 12 different treat stations located throughout the zoo. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to dress in costume, but adults are asked to not wear masks or face coverings during the non-scary event.

The zoo will once again be participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project for trick-or-treaters with food allergies. Guests with food allergies can ask volunteers at each treat station for a non-food item.

New this year, the Akron Zoo is offering Zoothing Boo on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. Guests with special needs will be able to enter the Akron Zoo an hour early to trick-or-treat before the crowds arrive. A limited number of tickets are available to help control crowd sizes.

Tickets can be purchased at the zoo or online at akronzoo.org. Presale tickets, purchased 24 hours in advance, are $12 for trick-or-treaters, $9 for non-member observers and free for Akron Zoo member observers. Day-of ticket prices are $14 for trick-or-treaters, $11 for non-member observers and $2 for Akron Zoo member observers. Children under two are free, but they must have a ticket to enter the zoo and will not be able to trick-or-treat. Non-Akron Zoo members will be charged $3 per vehicle for parking/shuttle fee.

The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $9 for children (ages 2-14). Children under two are free and parking is $3. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
