Artists of Rubber City presents trio of ceramic artists in The BOX Gallery

Opening Friday, May 31 at The BOX Gallery in downtown Akron, Post Post Post Baac will exhibit ceramics artwork from two recent graduates and a current candidate in Kent State University’s post-baccalaureate program. Meet the artists, Claudia Tomassi, Jennifer Masley and Marcus Fingerlin, at the opening reception, 5-8 p.m. The exhibitions continues through July 6.

Claudia Tomassi’s clay works take advantage of the grid and interlaced structures that form from her interest in painterly abstraction, painting’s history, and the interconnected culture within which we exist.

Jennifer Masley’s work explores the relationship of an organism consuming or interacting with contrasting structures. Masley’s objects are overgrown with layered, dense structures.

As Marcus Fingerlin completes his post-baccalaureate program, he focuses his figurative sculptures on the absurd, and the mundane.

The BOX Gallery is free and open to the public during exhibitions on Fridays and Saturdays 12-5 p.m., 3rd Thursday on June 20 from 4-7 p.m., and Akron Artwalks on June 1 and July 6 from 5-9 p.m. The BOX Gallery is located on the 3rd Floor of Summit Artspace, 140 E. Market St., Akron.
