Alpha Foundation Awards Annual Grants

Akron, Ohio, April 24, 2022 – The Alpha Phi Alpha Foundation of Akron, whose mission is to serve those in need, awarded the following continuing grants at its March 2022 meeting:

  • The University of Akron in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) in support of the 2022 Black, Brown and Beyond Male Summit.
  • Akron Public Schools – ProjectGRAD Akron, in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) in support of March GRADness and Achieving Dreams annual fundraising events.
  • The Annual Harold K. Stubbs Scholarship Program in the amount of Four Hundred Fifty Dollars ($450.00) in support of deserving students in the Akron area.
  • The Akron Blind Center in the amount of Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($750.00) in support of services, programming and advocacy for blind and low vision citizens in the greater Akron community.

Foundation Chairman Charles L. Greene noted, “The Alpha Foundation continues its support of these noteworthy institutions and their programming during these times of challenge for all non-profit organizations and their causes.”

The Alpha Phi Alpha Foundation of Akron accepts requests for funding throughout the year. Non-Profit and organizations with Non-Profit Fiscal Agents serving the Greater Akron Community are encouraged to submit grant proposals to:
