Akron Zoo’s Wild for Wine to take place on Aug. 14

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo’s annual wine tasting event, Wild for Wine, will take place this year on Aug. 14 from 6 – 9 p.m. At the event, guests can sample wine from local wineries, while enjoying the zoo after hours.

The event will also feature animal art in action. At designated times, guests will be able to witness select animal ambassadors in a painting session.

Vendors for August’s event include Cherry Road Winery, CLE Urban, Feisty Brood Meadery, Maize Valley, Filia Cellars, Nauti Vine, Sarah's Vineyard, Troutman Vineyards & Winery, Ugly Bunny and the Winery at Wolf Creek. Food trucks will be Avorrito, A Moveable Feast and Robesto’s Catering. Entertainment will be provided by Hip to That.

Tickets are on sale now and are $30 for Akron Zoo members and $35 for non-members. Designated driver tickets for members are $17 and $22 for non-members. Tickets are available for purchase at akronzoo.org/wild-for-wine and must be purchased in advance.

Wild for Wine is for adults 21 and older only, including designated drivers. Infants and children will not be admitted.

The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Summer hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $13 for adults, $11 for seniors and $10 for children ages 2-14. Children under two are free and parking is $3. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
