Akron Zoo to Offer Free Admission on January 15
January 10, 2024, AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is offering admission for all guests on Monday, Jan. 15 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Parking is also free.
During the event, the zoo will be launching an oral history project in partnership with Green Book Cleveland. Visitors can learn more about the project at an information table in Komodo Kingdom and contribute their own memories of the zoo and immediate neighborhood. Throughout 2024, the Akron Zoo will host other pop-ups events to collect memories and will also create opportunities to share the collection with the community.
Activities and a book giveaway will also be offered by National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa throughout the day.
The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Off-season hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Through Jan. 15, admission is $9 per person. Children under two are free and parking is free. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
