Akron Zoo to Host Wild for Wine Event

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is hosting their Wild for Wine event in person on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 6 – 9 p.m. The event will have a limited capacity to allow for social distancing and masks are required. Other safety precautions will be in place such as compostable tasting glasses at each station, frequent disinfecting and more.

At Wild for Wine, guests can sample wine from local wineries while enjoying the zoo after hours. Wineries include Bent Ladder, CLE Urban, Maize Valley, Nauti Vine, Troutman, Wolf Creek and Ugly Bunny. Food trucks, The Cookery and Scott’s Fire and Ice, will also be on grounds. Band Hip to That will be playing for the duration of the event.

Tickets must be purchased online and will not be available at the door. Tickets are $30 for Akron Zoo members and $35 for non-members. Designated driver tickets are $17 for Akron Zoo members and $22 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at akronzoo.org/wild-for-wine.

Guests must be 21 years or older, including designated drivers. Infants and children will not be admitted.

The Akron Zoo is now open. Current hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and admission is $8 per person. Children under two are free and parking is $3. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375- 2550.
