Akron Zoo to Host Blood Drive

July 9, 2020, AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, July 21 and Thursday, July 23 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in their Komodo Kingdom Education Center.

Donors will need to schedule an appointment through the American Red Cross and can do so by visiting akronzoo.org/red-cross-blood-drive. As an added benefit, all donations will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.

To be eligible to donate, donors must be 17 years old, meet height and weight requirements and be in good health. Donors will also have the chance to win an Akron Zoo membership by sharing a photo at the Blood Drive on Instagram and Facebook.

Anyone who uses #AkronZooBloodDrive and tags @akronzoo will be entered to win the membership.

The Akron Zoo is now open. Current hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and admission is $8 per person. Children under two are free and parking is $3. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
