Akron Zoo to Close Through March 31, 2020

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo has made the decision to close to the public. The zoo has been closely monitoring all guidance on COVID-19 because the health and safety of our guests, staff, animals, volunteers and the community are our highest priority. 

The closure of the zoo follows in accordance with the joint White House and CDC directive posted late Monday afternoon calling for the closure of all outdoor venues. At this time, the zoo will be closed through

The zoo’s professional and highly trained animal care and veterinary staff will continue to provide exceptional care for the zoo’s animals using proven care and safety practices that are updated continuously following the professional standards established by our Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accreditation The Akron Zoo will make updates on its website and social media.
