Akron Zoo Senior Event is Sept. 2

August 26, 2022, AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo’s event for senior citizens, Senior Safari, is Friday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Seniors, ages 62 and older, will receive discounted admission at $8 per person. Caregivers of seniors will receive discounted admission at $10 per person.

On top of the discount, vendors will be set up throughout the zoo, sharing information on senior services available in the area. Giveaways, free coffee and a $5.99 lunch special in the Komodo Kingdom Café will also be available for seniors.

Senior Safari is presented by SummaCare and Summa Health. A limited number of wheelchairs are available free of charge and a limited number of electric scooters are available for $27 per day. All rentals are on a first come, first serve basis.  

The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Summer hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (ages 62+) and $11 for children (ages 2-14). Children under two are free and parking is $5. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
